Jogyesa, Korean Buddhism Temple in central Seoul

Buddha’s birthday is a national holiday and the best time to visit a temple in Korea. The day of this year is on April 30. It is usually on May.

Jogyesa is the temple of Korean Buddhism. The temple is located in central Seoul, and that have easy access from many tourist areas.
The temple has 2 days 1 night temple stay program. They hold another two hours temple stay event without charge for the foreign visitors. You make sure to register at least one weeks in advance.

You can see lotus symbols or real lotus flowers easily anywhere in a Buddhist temple. The beautiful lotus flower is in bloom even on a dirty muddy pond. And it symbolizes the purification and enlightenment.

There are people who are circling the pagoda to make a wish.
