Euljiro is consist of markets of construction materials for a long time, so the place is a quite rough and old area. Since most of the buildings in the area is only 2 or 3 stories tall, it feels weird with clear view of the sky in the center of Seoul.
Coffee Hanyankbang is hidden in a shoulder-width alley behind of buildings. Hanyakbang means a traditional style of Korean herbal medicine pharmacy. As the name of the coffee shop, Coffee Hanyakbang suggests, they roast and brew their coffee with great care like boiling down medical herb.
It is famous for its unique interior and nostalgic ambience. It seems like I traveled back in time to a café in the 1920s of Seoul. The owner of the cafe must be a big collection of antiques.
