One of the things I love about Seoul is the Han River. The fact that Seoul has the river is nothing unique since most big cities have rivers. What is so special about the Han River is its vastness and openness. This vast Han River bisects Seoul into north and south and there are 31 bridges that cross the river. Bike paths, pedestrian walkways, parks, playgrounds, restaurants and many more are located along the river.
Ttukseom Hangang Park is situated on the north side of the river near Seoul Forest. This 11.5 km long park consists of a square, a rose garden, a playground, tennis courts, volleyball courts, soccer fields, fitness areas, etc. They have an outdoor swimming pool in summer and a roller skating rink in other seasons.
Night Picnic
The park is especially wonderful at night. The night scenery of Seoul across the river is extraordinary. You can enjoy this beautiful night views while having a picnic at the riverbank. Many people enjoy a late-night picnic with snacks and beer. You can even have chicken, pizza, or Chinese food using delivery service. Yes. Seoul’s delivery system covers parks in Han River too. Basically you can order any kind of food. Alternately, you can buy hot dogs, chicken, instant cup noodles, beer, and more at the convenience stores in the park.
In warmer months, don’t miss the chance to chill out by the river. You can enjoy beautiful views, delicious food and music in a relaxed atmosphere.
